High-performance sequencer

Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) - Campus Nord

The high-performance sequencer must be able to process 8 samples in parallel and produce 300 Gigabases of paired end (100 BP) reads per run. The size of reads generated must be from 36 BP up to 100 BP. The system must be a well established technology running in full production mode within the first semester 2011. The system must be applicable for expression studies, including strandness preserve RNA Seq protocols, quantification of ChIPs, genome methylation, SNP analysis and de-novo transcriptome predictions. Methods of analysis should be available for each of these applications. The used technology must be consistently reproducible and has to operate without contaminations.
