A new 3rd generation Synchrotron Radiation Source has stared its operations at DESY in Hamburg and two new Diffractometers are needed - One for Beamline P10 and the other one for Beamline P01. Both Diffractometers are for different research fields within the PetraIII project and the needs and specifications differ from each other.
DESY is inviting tenders to offer:
— lot 1: one very precise and extremely stable 6-circle diffractometer,
— lot 2: one 6-circle diffractometer for medium to high resolution inelastic x-ray scattering measurements.

Kurze Beschreibung:
The new 3rd generation storage ring PETRA III at DESY in Hamburg provides highly-brilliant synchrotron radiation with a high degree of spatial coherence. Beamline P10 is dedicated to promote coherent scattering techniques. The precise very stable 6-circle diffractometer will be used for x-ray scattering experiments in the medium to hard x-ray regime (5-25keV). The coherent scattering features ('speckles') from the sample are a few microns big. These features need to stay within the same detector pixel (a few microns) over hours. Kurze Beschreibung:
The 6-circle diffractometer will be used for medium to high resolution inelastic x-ray scattering measurements. The measurements will be performed in the hard x-ray regime of 5-20 keV. The floor as well as the x-ray beam stability will be in the order of 1 micron. Therefore the accuracy and the mechanical stability of the instrument detailed in this tender is of highest importance.
