Supply of 22 units pulse transformer for the European XFEL

In the future ultrashort x-ray laser pulses will be generated in the European XFEL (X-ray free-electron laser). This opens up many research possibilities in all natural sciences. For more information: http://xfel.desy.de/.
In the LINAC electrons are accelerated in superconducting cavities. The required RF power is generated in up to 27 RF stations. In these stations is the pulse transformer an important component. The pulse transformer converts the signal from a modulator with a ratio of 1 to -12. The high-tension signal is used for operating a klystron which generates the actual RF energy. The pulse transformer must be designed as a double wall version in order to reduce the risk of release of transformer oil in the tunnel to a minimum.
