In the future ultrashort x-ray laser pulses will be generated in the European XFEL (X-ray free-electron laser). This opens up many research possibilities in all natural sciences. For more information: http://xfel.desy.de/. />In the LINAC electrons are accelerated in superconducting cavities. The required RF power is generated in up to 27 RF stations. In these stations is the pulse transformer an important component. The pulse transformer converts the signal from a modulator with a ratio of 1 to -12. The high-tension signal is used for operating a klystron which generates the actual RF energy. The pulse transformer must be designed as a double wall version in order to reduce the risk of release of transformer oil in the tunnel to a minimum.

Beschreibung der Optionen:

The options 1 as given below may be exercised up to no later max. 2 (two) years after the date of the original order for the 2 lots described in Pos.1. The options 2 and 3 as given below may be exercised with the contract for Lot 1.1 or Lot 1.2.

— Option 1: 3 units pulse transformer,

— Option 2: 5 units pulse transformer (option 2) will be awarded with the contract for Lot 1.1 or 1.2:

—— Option 3: 8 units pulse transformer (Option 3) will be awarded with the contract for Lot 1.1 or 1.2:

The orderer reserves the right to exercise the option(s) as per the above listed breakdown to more than 1 (one), max. 2 (two) contractor(s), whereby the total quantities awarded shall not exceed the total quantity of 8 given for the options.
