Provision of a visual perception simulator 'human sensory model' by eye-tracking experiments (18928/BN/CDE/2011)

The successful tenderer shall complete the project in 5 project phases for each lot, from which the first 2 phases are mandatory (phase 1 and phase 2) and the 3 additional phases are optional.
Phase 1 requires installation and mastery of the visual perception simulator HSM, prepare stimuli both for the visual perception simulator HSM and for the eye-tracking (ET) experiments, run the ET experiments with 100 subjects, correlate the results of the visual perception simulator HSM with those of ET experiments, propose a metric and present a report to the ECB.
Phase 2 is a consolidation phase to a similar extent as phase 1, i.e. involving also ET experiments with 100 subjects according to the requirements set forth in the tender specifications that will be attached to the invitation to tender (ITT).
Only in the case of successful completion of phase 1 and phase 2, the ECB may request the contractor to further develop and validate the visual perception simulator HSM according to the requirements set forth in the tender specifications, in order to include specific segments of the population (phase 3) and tactility information (phase 4). The contractor may be also required by the ECB to consolidate the results taking into account the outcome of the phases 1–4 (phase 5).
