Call-off order contract for the manufacturing, assembly, cleaning, packaging, delivery and partially on-site welding of minimum 2 500 m and maximum 3 000 m of vacuum beam pipes of different sizes and types
The scope of supply comprises a call-off order contract for the manufacturing, assembly, cleaning, packaging, delivery and partially on-site welding of minimum 2 500 m and maximum 3 000 m of vacuum beam pipes of different sizes and types. Some of the pipes will have one or more additional ports according to European XFEL drawing no. 4-12-5868-A-100. Some of the pipes will be 18 m long and require on-site orbital welding (see explanation below). The exact numbers for each individual pipe diameter and the flange configuration are still to be defined. The minimum allocation of the different diameters is: DN40: min. 50 m DN63: min. 100 m DN100: min. 2000 m DN160: min. 50 m The earliest delivery is expected in Q4/2013, the latest call off order will be placed in Q3/2015. For long straight sections in the vacuum system we plan to introduce 18 m long DN100 pipes, which should be welded inside the underground tunnels. Therefore we need three prefabricated pipe segments, which will be welded together on-site: - One 6 m long pipe with one fixed CF100 flange at one end, the other end has to be prepared for orbital welding. - One 6 m long middle pipe with both ends prepared for orbital welding - One 6 m long pipe with one rotatable CF100 flange at one end and the other end prepared for orbital welding The call for tender includes fabrication and on-site orbital welding (staff, tools, supplies) of these long pipe segments. One example of a possible pipe is shown in the attached drawing nr. 3-12-5868-A-200 There will be two proposed dates, not before Q3/2014, for on-site orbital welding in two different tunnel locations. The amount of 18 m pipes to be welded at the two locations will be 30 to 50 each.
