Strategic investment in airport Lahr: Call for expressions of interest

City of Lahr

The airport is situated on a former NATO-military airfield, which was converted into civil operations starting in 1997. In 2000, the airfield has been given the permit to operate as a special airport for air cargo handlings.
Since 2006 the airport has been entitled to serve special passenger traffic to Germany's largest theme park — the Europapark in Rust. The airport infrastructure is owned by the city of Lahr, which is currently looking for a new partner as the current operator has filed for insolvency.
In this context PricewaterhouseCoopers AG, WPG, Frankfurt am Main, has been retained by the city of Lahr as strategic and financial advisor. Investors are invited to submit expressions of interest until July 22nd 2013.
Submission of binding offers is already planned for August 31st 2013. Given this tight schedule it cannot be guaranteed that expressions of interest after July 22nd 2013 can be taken into consideration. Investors meeting financial and operational prequalification criteria will be invited to proceed to the second phase.
