EO019-14 XFEL: Manufacture and supply of 16 units High Power Switched Mode Power Supplies for the European XFEL

The power supply shall be a unipolar switched mode power supply, e.g. buck converter. As magnet power supplies the power supply will mainly be operated in constant DC mode at different current levels.
The primary DC voltage is generated by a central diode rectifier which is not part of this tender. Several power parts will be connected to this diode rectifier. The power connection to this rectifier is done via bus bars and cabling. There will be external fuses for the short circuit protection between the diode rectifier and the power part. These fuses will be in the rack that will contain the power parts.
The output will be connected directly to the magnet (resistive-inductive load).
The power supplies shall be water cooled without fans.
DESY will provide a digital regulation with the precision regulation and control of the power part. Into the power part an interface card will be inserted which is connected to the digital regulation via light link. To provide a connection between the removable interface card and the power part, a so called adapter card will be mounted into the power part.
It is assumed to have a buck converter. However if different topologies are proposed, these are welcome as well.
The given input voltages are the max. nominal voltages by the rectifier. It shall be possible that the power supplies will be connected to lower input voltages.
The power part shall consist of a 19”-housing, steel metal sheet.
Input capacitors.
Semiconductors including drivers.
LC- output filter.
EMC-filters for the input/output and auxiliary voltage.
Housing for the DESY- interface and adapter card.
Measurement devices.
Display.
The precision measurement of the magnet current is done via an external DCCT which is not part of delivery. The overall accuracy of the power supply will be done by an extra current regulation provided by DESY.
