GSOC Enhanced Command- and Control System for Operating Spacecrafts (GECCOS), Maintenance and Implementation

GECCOS is based on the ESA system SCOS-2000, Release 3.1 and is in development and use at GSOC since 1999/2000. Many bugfixes and improvements have been implemented based on feedback from the operational usage at GSOC. In addition, the system has been adapted to support new S/C platforms. All but one project-specific branches are implemented in such a way that the respective GECCOS versions are derived from one major branch. In the last years GSOC additionally began to implement improvements of the kernel and of the graphical user interface (GUI).
The work shall be performed from 01.05.2014 until 31.12.2015. As an option, an extension for another year until 31 December 2016 shall be offered as well.
The following tasks are required to be performed for the projects GRACE, TerraSAR-X, TanDEM-X, TET, Satcom-BW, EnMAP, EDRS-A, EDRS-C, HAG-1, PAZ and additional new projects that select GECCOS as the Monitoring and Control System:
— Maintenance of the operational Software-System for GECCOS
— Trouble shooting
— User support
— Software adaptation
— Bug fixes (Non Conformance Reports, Discrepancy Reports)
— Implementation of Engineering Change Requests (ECR) for GECCOS
— General Change Requests
— Project specific Change Requests
The main objective is to ensure safe and uninterrupted satellite operations.
Any new project that will be kicked-off during the contract duration and which will use a GECCOS based monitoring & control system is to be included in this contract. The related additional tasks to set up and configure the system will be handled by the change request process.
GSOC internal quality standards, which have been tailored from ECSS, have to be fulfilled (see work package description).
