The scope of work is to finalize and perform finite element analysis (FEA) of the conceptual IC1 design, to fabricate, manufacture, test, deliver and install the IC1 at the HED instrument of the European XFEL. Special attention has to be paid to the necessity of an all-aluminium chamber.

Review of the current IC1 design and proposal of changes (if applicable), including:

— Sketches or 3D models of design modifications;

— FEA of structural and vacuum forces with proposed modifications to the structure of the chamber to meet requirements;

— Proof of ability to implement in-vacuum motorization and cabling;

— List of metrology instruments available for the Factory acceptance test (FAT);

— Company profile including information on capabilities for design, manufacturing, welding, testing and company qualification;

— Proposal for quality assurance and testing during manufacturing and FAT;

— Proposal for man power, tasks and schedules for installation and site acceptance test (SAT);

— Detailed project schedule for design, manufacturing, delivery and installation including review meetings;

— Proof of ability to clean and prepare the chamber to meet the High Vacuum requirements (EN ISO 14644-1 level 7 or better);

— Detailed references of large welded Aluminium vacuum chambers or similar structures;

— Certifications of the company regarding QM and welding;

— A list of proposed sub-contractors including goods and services supplied by these sub-contractors (if applicable); proof of subcontractor certifications according to requested standards.

(3) The application is inadmissible if:
