MID mirror system (Phase1)

European X-Ray Free-Electron Laser Facility GmbH

The scope of work is to design, fabricate, assemble, test, and deliver one mirror system with two individual x-ray mirror substrates for the MID experiment, together with its mechanics, vacuum vessel and support granite as well as the metrology of mirrors and documentation.
Special attention has to be paid to the UHV compatibility (1E-9 mbar or better hydrocarbon-free vacuum) and the particle-free requirements (ISO 7 or better, ideally ISO 5) concerning the design and assembly of the vacuum chambers. Compatibility of the mirror mounting with a later cryo-cooling (Phase 2) has to be ensured.

Technische und berufliche Fähigkeiten:

— A conceptual design of the entire system including details as listed in the tender documents;

— A detailed time schedule for the production and delivery;

— Company profile including an overview of manufacturing, testing capabilities, qualification of the staff that will be working on this project. Special attention will be paid to in-house capabilities for design, manufacturing and testing;

— Detailed references of at least 5 similar (x-ray mirror and/or cryo-cooled monochromator) previous manufacturing, assembly and design tasks by the bidder or its employees;

— Certificates of conformity to the particle free requirements ISO 7 or better (ideally ISO 5);

— List of metrology instruments available for the FAT or request to use European XFEL metrology;

— A list of proposed subcontractors including goods and services supplied by these subcontractors and the sub-contractor for the mirror substrate and polishing company.

(3) The application is inadmissible if:

1. the applicant became aware of the violation of provisions governing the awarding of public contracts during the award procedure and did not object to the contracting entity without undue delay,

2. violations of provisions governing the awarding of public contracts which become apparent from the tender notice are not notified to the contracting entity by the end of the period specified in the notice for the submission of a tender or application,
