81203923 — Advice and Training to the Maritime Related Industries Timor Leste
Since 2004, German Cooperation has supported the Democratic Republic of Timor Leste in the development of a maritime sector. So far, activities of the Technical Cooperation have focussed on legal advice, organisational support to maritime institutions and training to staff of the maritime sector. The ratification of IMO- and ILO-conventions has been supported and policies drafted together with the Timorese partner institutions, mainly the Ministry of Public Works, Transport and Communication (MOTPC). Furthermore, an organisational reform of maritime institutions has been supported which contained the separation of the maritime authority as controlling agency and the port operations into the National Maritime Transport Authority (DNTM) and the Port Administration of Timor-Leste (APORTIL).
