Diffraction Order Dumps for SASE3 beamline

European X-Ray Free-Electron Laser Facility GmbH

The scope of supply comprises the design, fabrication, assembly, testing and delivery of 5 Diffraction Order Dumps (DODs) and 1 Entrance Slit (ES) for the SASE3 beamline at the European XFEL.
The devices consist of support frame, manual alignment system, UHV chamber and remotely movable actuator(s) on which is mounted the water-cooled beam stopper. 4 of 6 chambers mount 2 opposite actuators, while the remaining 4 mount only 1 actuator. In total 10 actuators mounted in 6 chambers. The stoppers are made of Boron Carbide and they are 150 mm long and 100 mm wide. Resolution of the actuator movement is in the μm level (micrometer level) and the maximum absorbed power is 100 W per actuator.
European XFEL will provide the boron-carbide parts that are already designed. The devices shall comply with UHV (better than 10-9 mbar) and particle-free (ISO class 5/6) specifications.
9 months after the contract is awarded, the Diffraction Order Dumps should be ready for delivery.

Umfang der Beschaffung
Kurze Beschreibung:

The scope of supply comprises the design, fabrication, assembly, testing and delivery of 5 Diffraction Order Dumps (DODs) and 1 Entrance Slit (ES) for the SASE3 beamline at the European XFEL.

The devices consist of support frame, manual alignment system, UHV chamber and remotely movable actuator(s) on which is mounted the water-cooled beam stopper. 4 of 6 chambers mount 2 opposite actuators, while the remaining 4 mount only 1 actuator. In total 10 actuators mounted in 6 chambers. The stoppers are made of Boron Carbide and they are 150 mm long and 100 mm wide. Resolution of the actuator movement is in the μm level (micrometer level) and the maximum absorbed power is 100 W per actuator.

European XFEL will provide the boron-carbide parts that are already designed. The devices shall comply with UHV (better than 10-9 mbar) and particle-free (ISO class 5/6) specifications.

9 months after the contract is awarded, the Diffraction Order Dumps should be ready for delivery.
