EO010-16 — Supply of a detector linear positioning system for the Swedish beam-line P21 at the PETRA III extension

DESY is inviting tenders for a construction and installation of a detector linear positioning system (DLPS) which will be operated in the diffraction hutch (EH3) at beam-line P21 at the PETRA III extension. The DLPS will be used to position independent detector units in the experimental hutch. The detector units will have a maximum size of approximately 450 x 450 x 450 mm³ and a weight of maximum 150 kg. The DLPS will consist of 2 quasi-independent portals, 1 with compact lateral dimensions to position a detector very close to the sample or direct beam (portal 1), and another with significant translation range perpendicular to the beam (portal 2). Both portals should provide XYZ-positioning while portal 1 will require an additional translation to position detectors very closely behind the sample. Furthermore, it must be possible that portal 2 can cross portal 1 along the X-direction to exchange the order of portals, when no detector unit is mounted. Both positioning systems must be mounted on rails parallel to the beam direction. The installation of the rails in the experimental hutch is part of the scope of work.
