With respect to magnets, dipole magnets have to be built satisfying the requirements of particle accelerator operation. The injection dipole and the two septum magnets are necessary to deflect the incoming particle beam towards the HESR beam path. The chicane dipole magnets are needed to allow the operation of a magnetic spectrometer as an internal experiment. These magnets must be operated in synchronicity with the acceleration cycle.
