81212518 — Implementing the Nagoya-Protocol (ABS-Initiative)
Established in 2006, the GIZ implemented multi-donor funded ABS Capacity Development Initiative supports the national implementation of Access and Benefit Sharing (ABS) in Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific. In the current phase, focus is set on contributing in selected African partner countries to the establishment of functioning ABS agreements which entail the fair and equitable sharing of monetary and non-monetary benefits generated for the utilization of genetic resources and associated traditional knowledge.
The ABS Initiative holds the unique position as a global information and knowledge broker on ABS worldwide.
The competition is to assist the project leader in the implementation of the ABS Initiative in the identified partner and cooperation countries of the ACP region including North Africa.
