It is proposed that climate-relevant criteria such as GHG emission reduction potentials be integrated into ministerial guidelines. In addition, public servants in different spheres and private sector collaborators will be trained, and decision support tools will be made available to municipalities so that they have better conditions to plan and implement solid waste management (MSW) measures with a high impact on the reduction of GHG emissions (capacity building).

The project will support the insertion of waste management content with a high impact on the reduction of GHG in university curricula, as well as the construction of a virtual Brazil-Germany research and consulting network in order to contribute to the long-term anchoring of an Innovative waste policy with a high impact on the reduction of GHG emissions.
