Kurze Beschreibung:
After the Paris climate conference in December 2015, it is of paramount importance to further concretize and implement the Paris agreement. In this context, data collection and national greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories will be of particular importance in the coming years. Without solid GHG emission data for the most relevant sectors such as the RAC sector, it will not be possible to translate the NDCs into concrete and fundable /bankable measures. Against this background, the objective of this assignment is to implement concrete measures and make significant contributions to climate protection which the cooling sector could achieve through energy-efficient, environmentally and climate-friendly cooling technologies public in selected partner countries. The project seeks to adequately position the cooling sector within the global climate and climate technology discussion. Selected frontrunner countries (Kenya, Ghana and Seychelles) will be supported in planning, financing and implementing RAC sector policies and closely linking those with their national climate goals and their NDCs development and proposals for financing the implementation by creating an enabling environment for coherent planning, prioritization, financing and implementation. Frontrunner countries will be enabled to prepare the implementation of policy approaches, strategies and programs, eliminate barriers and establish standards for integrated ozone and climate protection. The targeted support frontrunner countries in Africa are Kenya, Ghana and the Seychelles, other countries under the project include Indonesia and Colombia.
