Following up on the Paris Agreement's Article 4.19 call on parties to elaborate long-term low greenhouse gas development strategies, the Republic of KAZAKHSTAN is drafting a National Strategy for Low Carbon Economic Development until 2050 (LEDS). The project ‘Promoting Green Economy in Kazakhstan and Central Asia for the development of a low carbon economy’ (the project) supports the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan in drafting the LEDS. In doing so, the project follows international best practice examples and key success factors as outlined by the 2050 pathways platform and others. To launch the process of drafting the LEDS the project has already built a pathways team, identified and mapped stakeholders and developed a stakeholder engagement plan.
