Tasks to be performed by the contractor
The contractor supports the project ‘Improvement of labour-, social- and environment standards in the Pakistani textile industry’ (TextILES) with four work packages.
Work package 1: Management and team development support
The contractor supports the project team and its work units with:
— team building courses for the project team,
— discussion and feedback: key activities, management structures and communication channels in the work units,
— individual coaching of employees, especially, but not exclusively, of national managers and advisors,
— intervision, peer counselling for project team members,
— support to the team in setting up and running knowledge management processes,
— qualification for team members: moderation skills,
— qualification for team members: Process consulting and organisational development (change management in terms of cooperation and leadership — KuF) to support the implementation of the Dialogue for Sustainability and the Dialogue for Labour Welfare and Change.
Work package 2: Training course: Organisational Development (OD)
The project team (and in some cases partner-consultants of the project) will be qualified to ensure the quality of service provision. The training (for a maximum of 15 participants) will be held in 5 modules. Each module covers 2.5 days of training. The training will be jointly held by two specialists, a deployed international specialist and a national expert coming from the GIZ project team. The national expert will provide the fit for the Pakistani context and get the same a training on the job as OD trainer.
The participants of the training course are to develop their competences in the following areas:
— deeper understanding of one's own personality structure in a counselling context;
— own consulting and management potential, as well as emotional resources;
— basic knowledge of essential theoretical approaches and concepts of organisational development, as well as the ability to use its instruments for practical consulting activities;
— in-depth knowledge of the application of instruments of organisational development, e.g. contracting, consulting roles, designing interventions and consulting processes;
— process consulting and organisational development (change management in terms of cooperation and leadership — KuF) to support the implementation of the Dialogue for Sustainability and the Dialogue for Labour Welfare and Change;
— mastery of process consulting methods to accompany change processes application knowledge for reflection on one's own work.
Work package 3: Executive feedback
This work packages includes:
— moderation of up to 10 one-day sessions ‘feedback to managers’ according the GIZ standard procedure,
— reflection of management competencies and leadership behaviour,
— agreements between team leader and team to improve management skills and leadership behaviour.
Work package 4: Support for monitoring and evaluation (M&E)
The contractor supports the Monitoring and Evaluation operations (M&E) of the project:
— support for the implementation of the M&E concept of the project and system development M&E in cooperation with the responsible employee on site,
— direct support of the responsible employee on site.
Considering current pandemic (Covid-19) situation globally, the international experts will be travelling as per latest travel advisory. In case they wouldn't be allowed to travel, the technical support will be provided by means of remote communication.
