Kurze Beschreibung:

The European X‐rays Free Electron Laser (EuXFEL) aims to develop superconducting (SC) undulators for the future upgrades. The development of superconducting technology for the undulators is a longterm project and requires the setup of a test facility for the superconducting coils. The facility will be installed at DESY, where the existing FLASH backup Cold Box (CB, also called the “900 W Anlage”) and the existing vertical cryostat V2 will be adapted to allow testing of 2 m long undulator coils in a bath of superfluid helium (2K, 30 mbar). A new distribution box will connect the cold box to the existing cryostat and a 2000 l helium dewar, while two additional cold terminals in the box will allow the future connection of a horizontal cryostat for SC undulators and the existing XFEL Magnet Test Stand (XMTS) at present installed at the magnet test hall in building 55.
