Accounting for the convergence of grid and IT (digital) infrastructure, for the OT/IT convergence as well as the need for the usage of state-of-the-art (information) technologies (along with the change of the operating model using & applying these technologies), Elia is aiming to build a technology platform, the Elia Digital Platform (EDP), to enable applications to “make the grid network intelligent”.
The Elia Digital Platform (EDP) needs to be a consistent & coherent combination of technologies available & provided within Elia Group’s premises (i. e. private cloud) and commercial providers of these technologies (i. e. public cloud). In very brief summary, Elia Group is aiming to build up a hybrid (poly) cloud to serve the needs & necessities for the local transmission system operators (and beyond) to cope with the energy transition.
