The contractor contributes to achieving the objectives and indicators of the IYBA-SEED programme. The target numbers prescribed are part of the Country Action Plan (CAP) for Kenya and contribute to the logframe of the IYBA-SEED programme, with defined indicators along the four Specific Objectives.
The Kenya Country Action Plan has identified four focus areas:
1. Improved access to finance and management skills
2. Expand market opportunities
3. Support an inclusive entrepreneurial culture
4. Supportive policy environment
The contract will focus on Focus Areas 1 and 2 of the CAP.
The objective shall be achieved through seven interventions. The contractor will be tasked with executing the corresponding activities for five of these interventions.
1. Awareness creation for new / alternative financial services suited for SEED beneficiaries and support for product development.
2. Design and implementation of loan application toolkits tailored to SEED beneficiaries.
3. Capacity building of Actors of the Entrepreneurship Ecosystem to deliver financial literacy programmes tailored to the needs of different types of SEED beneficiaries.
4. Facilitation of networking and knowledge sharing among financial ecosystem actors and with BDS providers to strengthen collaboration.
5. Capacity development of Business Development Services providers to develop and deliver programmes supporting SEED beneficiaries for compliance with certification/regulatory requirements.
