The intended use of the machine is the development of processes and technologies as well as the execution of technological test series for the use of new peeling and honing tools, materials or technology parameters. The field of application of the new machine is defined by the following product classes and technologies:

 Machining of internal gears by hob peeling and internal honing.

 Machining of external gears by hob peeling (single gears and gear shafts with teeth)

 Soft machining

 Hard machining after previous soft machining and heat treatment

In addition to the two main technologies of hobbing and internal honing, the machine should also be able to perform various turning and deburring operations.

For the execution of the tests, the machine must be universally applicable and at the same time, however, it must also be possible to realize high-performance machining under series-like conditions.

Due to the universal application, both cylindrical and tapered tools must be able to be used on the machine for hobbing. For internal honing, primarily dressable tools are to be used, which are to be profiled directly on the machine.

Applications for review are not permitted if more than 15 calendar days have passed since receipt of notification from the contracting authority that it is unwilling to redress an objection (section 160 (3) sentence 1 no. 4 of the German Competition Act (Gesetz gegen Wettbewerbsbeschränkungen, GWB)).
