High-end graphics supercomputer. the specified high-end graphics supercomputer has to fulfill the requirements of realtime VR-applications in multiwall immersive projection technology systems. It has to be a single-host multiprocessor system, no cluster solution. 8 or 14 CPUs with minimum 4 MB secondary cache, 1,5 GB RAM, 18 GB Disc, 12 serial ports (RS-232), 4 100 BaseT network interfaces, ATM interface. Specs: the video bandwidth have to be minimum 230 MHz per output. There must be the possibility to freely define video formats, including shutter-stereo format. There must be at least 6 separate video channels whose signals must be genlockable. > 13 million polygon/sec, > 8 millions anti-aliased vectors/sec, > 180 million textured pixel fill. These performance figures are per graphics channel, totaling to six times the figures as above for the entire system. Required Graphics features include: multisampling full-scene antialiasing, clip mapping, texture paging, volume rendering (3D textures), 64 MB texture memory per graphics channel. the basic operating system has to be UNIX, including software libraries for flexible, performant scenegraph rendering with the possibility to access the low-level graphics API.
