Bezeichnung des Auftrags durch den Auftraggeber: Kreuzdispergierer. Production of 5 pairs of glass prisms for the cross dispersers of the high resolution optical spectrograph PEPSI. We request quotations for 5 pairs of glass prisms, each approximately the size of 200 mm cube. These pairs are dubbed CD-II, CD-III, CD-IV, CD-V, and CD-VI (note that CD-I is not part of this call for tender). Each prism has 2 optical-quality surfaces (surface roughness 2 nm) and on one side each prism must be contacted to a volume phase holographic grating (VPHG), itself carried by two substrate plates made of N-BK7 with a l am/10 rms surface. The substrate plates with the VPHG are not part of this call for tender but will be supplied by the customer. Each pair of prisms is made of the same glass but 3 different glasses were chosen for the 5 pairs. Each glass shall be of homogeneity H2 or better and bubble class 3 or better. The attachment shows drawings of each of the prisms for each of the cross-disperser pairs along with footprint diagrams for the entrance and exit surfaces of each of the prisms. The other prism surfaces are not to be polished but shall remain flat but rough in order to suppress straylight. Per cross disperser 2 prism surfaces shall be coated with an antireflection MgF2 coating, the entrance optical surface of the first prism and the exit surface of the second prism. Reflection shall always be less than 1 %. The delivery timeline is March 2011.
