The JRC Karlsruhe has some 400 gloveboxes to contain radioactive substances. As to prevent leakage, a negative pressure is maintained in the boxes by use of a ventilation system. The negative pressure is to be regulated with valves, these are subject to wearing und become defectuous over time. 2015-05-21 Supply of underpressure control and safety valves for the connection of glove boxes with the ventilation installation (European Commission, Joint Research Centre (JRC), Institute for Transuranium Elements (ITU))
The contract involves the supply and 24 months of warranty of 10 underpressure regulating valves and 25 underpressure safety valves per year. The installation and connection to the ventilation equipment will be done by ITU staff. For reasons of nuclear safety (potentially contaminated material) the maintenance and eventual repairs will be performed internally at ITU.
