Helmholtz Zentrum Berlin (HZB) is in the process to rebuild a time-of-flight spectrometer NEAT on Flight Path NL-1b at the BER-II. The upgrade includes the neutron guide system, a new chopper system and a new secondary spectrometer with large detector angle coverage. The neutron guide system foresees exchangeable guide end-pieces for better focus of the neutron beam for various sample sizes.
