Lot 1 includes the following deliveries and services:
1.1 Delivery of the MRI system into the experimental room of the OncoRay premises, including: - pre-installation site visit for magnetic survey - pre-installation site visit for rigging and transportation inspection - pre-installation site visit for floor inspection - delivery at the place of usage according to DDP Dresden (Incoterms 2010) - rigging of the MRI system into the OncoRay facility - internal transport of the MRI system into the experimental room of the OncoRay facility

1.2 Installation of the MRI system at the OncoRay premises. The following actions must be undertaken in the parking position:
— insofar both were offered here and hereafter - assembly of the RF cabin on the mobile transport platform,
— shimming of the magnet after it has been mounted on the gantry,
— calibration of the gradient system.
1.3 Site Acceptance Test (SAT) of the MRI system at the OncoRay premises. The following criteria must be demonstrated at acceptance:
— artefact-free localizer scan,
— artefact-free 2D and 3D spin echo (SE) and gradient echo (GE) sequences for anatomical imaging,
— artefact-free 3D imaging with a bSSFP sequence of an MRI phantom and a human volunteer,
— artefact-free 2D-cine imaging with a bSSFP sequence of an MRI-compatible motion phantom and the liver of a human volunteer.
1.4 Commissioning of the MRI system at the OncoRay premises. The following criteria must be demonstrated at commissioning:
— fulfillment of all performance specifications as provided in the offer.
1.5 Training for users at the OncoRay premises:
— user training to operate the MRI system, with focus on instructions to use the system for patient and phantom scanning,
— user training to operate the pulse sequence programming environment of the MRI system,
— user training to operate the transport platform (insofar offered),
— user documentation in English or German.
1.6 Warranty and Maintenance
— 12 months including parts and labor for all components starting with successful SAT at the OncoRay premises.
The offer must be accompanied by schematic drawings of the MRI system (incl. magnet, electronics cabinets, cooling devices, computer workstation, etc.), the RF cabin and the mobile transport platform. The physical dimensions, weights, and required connections (electrical power supply, cooling, air, communication network) of all components should be listed.

The subject of the tender is a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system that can be combined with the horizontal proton pencil beam scanning (PBS) beam line that is operated in the experiment room of the proton therapy facility at the OncoRay premises. The purpose of the MRI system is real-time imaging of a target volume placed at its imaging field during simultaneous proton beam irradiation.

To that end, the MRI system has an open geometry (i.e. no closed bore) that allows the beam to be transported from the exit of PBS nozzle to the MR imaging field without touching MRI system components. In order to irradiate target volumes placed in the MR imaging volume, the MR magnet should be vertically leveled such that its isocenter is aligned with the central beam axis.

The static magnetic field of the MRI system must allow to be ramped up and down rapidly in a controlled manner (i.e. not based on permanent magnet materials). The magnet technology of the MRI system ensures a liquid Helium free operation for which no quench pipe needs to be installed in the experimental room. The strength of the static magnetic field is between 0.5 T and 1 T. The magnet can be operated in different configurations, allowing both the static magnetic field to be parallel and perpendicular to the central beam axis. The MRI system fulfils the IEC 60601-2-33 safety standards to perform imaging studies on human subjects. The magnet can be operated in different orientations, allowing human subjects to be scanned in horizontal (i.e. lay-down) and vertical (i.e. upright) position. The gradient subsystem ensures small geometric image distortions and a high frame rate for single-slice 2D cine imaging in the sagittal plane. A compact RF-shielding solution is part of the MRI system. Optionally, magnetic shielding solutions are offered. The MRI system should be moveable within the experiment room between the irradiation position (located in the immediate in vicinity of the beam exit) and a remote parking position using a transport platform.

The bidder agrees to reviews and checks of the provided references. Upon request of the contracting authority the references have to be proven by a certificate issued by the references customer.
Mindeststandards:
Participants have to offer at least one reference for the particular lot for which they intend to submit a bid. The references have to be similar to the scope and the description of the according lot. The references shall comprise completed contracts that shall not be older than 3 years with effect from the date of the acceptance at the customers site.

— pre-installation site visit for inspection of transport routes;
— delivery according to DDP Dresden (Incoterms 2010);
— assembly and installation of MRI system and gantry and patient positioning system;
— necessary coordination with the supplier of the MRI system;
— provide project management and design reviews with third party partners for the design and construction of
a mobile platform incorporating all system components (MRI system, gantry, patient positioning system);
an RF cabin to be installed around the system components onto the mobile platform;
— provide detailed technical drawings (e.g. A23in .dwg format) of custom designed gantry that allows rotation of 90 º for both perpendicular and parallel magnet configurations at 126 cm isocenter height.
