The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is seeking a contractor to implement the project "Strengthening a Green Business Development Service (BDS) Ecosystem in Jordan", which is part of the overall Green Action in Enterprises (GAIN) project. The overall objective of the GAIN project is that "public and private actors use instruments to promote a Green Economy". The project consists of 4 outputs: - Output 1 aims to strengthen the organisational capacity of public sector institutions to implement selected initiatives to promote a green transformation of the Jordanian industrial sector. - Output 2 aims to improve the facilitation between the industrial and financial sector for green investments. - Ouput 3 focuses on strengthening instruments for scaling up resource-efficient and/or circular production in the Jordanian industrial sector. - Output 4 aims to strengthen instruments to empower women in the Jordanian industrial sector. In this context, GIZ is seeking to commission a contractor (and a local partner) to provide a range of specialised Green BDS advisory services expertise relating to four packages of services: (1) Inception Phase This work package focuses on analysing current dynamics of the Green BDS ecoystem in Jordan and, accordingly, prepare for the implementation of upcoming work packages. (2) Improving Green BDS on energy efficiency and integrated industrial water management The objective of WP2 is to improve the technical capabilities of selected Green BDS providers (target group) to provide energy efficiency and integrated industrial water management related services to industrial clients. Based on the screening and analysis done under WP1, the Contractor is expected to first identify those Green BDS providers within the target group who i) currently offer such services to industrial clients but in low to medium quality and ii) wish to strategically grow their market capabilities in those service areas. (3) Strengthening Green BDS providers with advanced technical capabilities The goal of this work package is to enhance the technical capabilities of advanced Green BDS providers that already follow international best practices and standards by introducing new service lines and piloting the implementation of more complex BDS packages to industrial clients. (4) Strengthening business development capabilities of Green BDS providers Under this WP, the Contractor is expected to further strengthen the business development capabilities of at least 15 Green BDS providers by conducting comprehensive and continuous business development strategy support. Part of this should be the development of a unique market identity by and for Green BDS providers which would aid the SPs" long term ability to grow their business. This is crucial because SPs in Jordan generally do not recognise their Green BDS as a distinguished portfolio line and hence refrained so far from marketing these to potential industrial enterprises.
