A new SQUID* magnetometer will be acquired at the HLD at HZDR. This device will be used in order to precisely analyze the magnetic properties of a wide variety of sample classes. This setup shall be equipped with a superconducting NbTi magnet that allows for generating magnetic fields up to 8 Tesla. The system should also be equipped with a variable temperature insert to achieve temperatures at least in the range of 2 K to to 300 K. The plasma furnace will be used for research on the reduction, refining and valorisation of slags and other waste products from metallurgical processes as well as for the treatment primary ores and concentrates. The contractor is responsible for engineering, building, delivery, installation and commissioning of the plasma furnace as well as the instruction and training of operatives.
