The subject of the contract shall be the performance of a study regarding the safety implications from the use of hardware development tools for programmable airborne electronic hardware. The objective is to survey the different tools which are used for safety-critical applications, assess their functionalities and configurability options, and derive detailed recommendations and guidelines for their effective use in support of airworthiness certification processes.
