An H2 container pilot plant is being set up and operated at the DLR test site in Lampoldshausen, which is supplied with gaseous hydrogen by two electrolysers. The electrolysers are powered by green wind electricity. In the case of lack of wind, the hydrogen supply to the pilot plant is temporarily bridged by a buffer tank until enough wind blows again to enable the electrolysers for supplying.

At the DLR test site in Lampoldshausen, DLR operates several facilities for the purpose of testing liquid chemical propellant rocket engines in the framework of the civil European space program. The cryogenic media supply system of the test benches shall be equipped with a H2-Liquifier.
